Taranaki and NZ at Alert Level 4

Following the Prime Minister's announcement of a positive Covid19 case in the Auckland community, New Zealand will move to Alert Level 4 at 11:59pm tonight (17 August) for at least three days.

Auckland and the Coromandel will likely remain at Alert Level 4 for a longer period.

At this stage there are no confirmed cases in the Taranaki region.

The locations visited by the positive Covid-19 case are being updated on the Ministry of Health website(external link)

At Alert Level 4 we need to stay at home to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

  • People are instructed to stay at home in their bubble other than for essential personal movement.
  • Businesses are closed except for those permitted to be open at Alert Level 4 - for example, supermarkets, pharmacies, clinics, petrol stations and lifeline utilities will stay open.
  • Safe recreational activity is allowed in your local area.
  • All gatherings are cancelled and all public venues are closed.
  • Educational facilities are closed.

The public is advised to wear masks when out in public for essential reasons.

This is a fast-changing environment, so please visit Unite Against Covid-19 website (external link)for updates.
